SWAGLY Youth Group presents Beyond Acceptance Queer Youth Prom at The White Room.

Beyond Acceptance Queer Youth Prom will be a queer youth dance for ages 11—17 years old. The prom is a part of the Worcester Pride week of events and will include a drag show, special performances, food, music, and more! This event seeks to provide a brave space to celebrate all queer identities and embrace queer youth in a supportive and loving community pride event.

Many LGBTQIA+ youth have experienced a sense of not belonging at their respective prom dances in the traditional school setting. This event allows these youth to experience this coming of age adventure in a supportive and inclusive environment. It is the hope that while we work on making it safer and inclusive at the traditional school proms that this event could serve as an alternative to ensure that no queer youth misses out on this experience. Additionally, it gives youth space to unapologetically express their identities in their most authentic form.
