Join us on Zoom to learn how to keep your money and information safe!

Fraud is an ever-changing monster, changing its scheme at the blink of an eye. It is not always as obvious as it seems, so let’s discuss the most popular ways fraud is presenting itself today. This includes situations where fraudulent checks are being deposited and how the fraudsters are making money. As well as other situations like how they convince you to hand over your personal information or access your computer or banking information without you even realizing the dangers. Also, the red flags to keep a look out for and alternate ways of going about situations that will not compromise your information.

Melissa Richard is a Fraud Specialist at Leominster Credit Union where she has been employed since 2018. During her time with LCU she has identified and prevented fraud situations saving members not only their own money, but also helping keep their personal information safe outside of banking. The only true way of preventing fraud is spreading information so everyone can protect themselves, friends, and family. For this reason, over the last six months Melissa has transitioned to a more educational approach, not only informing coworkers of the latest fraud trends and how to address them but also presenting to high school students and the community.
