Attention all science and nature enthusiasts ages 5-13! Join Dinosaurs Rock for a journey into the mesmerizing world of INSECTS ROCK through an expansive Museum exhibit, interactive show and awesome hands-on activity. Explore prehistoric insects - massive beetles and giant dragonflies that once roamed the Earth, learn about the intricate life cycles of insects and, from the delicate wings of butterflies to the powerful mandibles of ants, get an overview of insect anatomy and adaptations enabling insects to survive and thrive in their environments. We'll look at how a fly flies and discuss the most iconic insects on the planet, taking a look at the enchanting glow of fireflies to the chorus of cicadas and industrious buzz of bees.

Best of all there's a hands-on Amber Discovery project where each participant will polish a piece of genuine rough fossilized amber, in search of a plant or insect inclusion...yours to take home! Don't miss this very special event!

Registration is required and begins 4/10.

Please note, participants must be willing to fill out a short survey at the end of the program for the United Way.

This program is sponsored by the MA Department of Elementary and Secondary Education's DESE ASOST Grant, administered by the United Way of North Central Massachusetts.
