Participants are invited to join Jay Mankita on Tuesday, February 20 from 2-3:30pm for a STEM-themed maker-skills workshop! Jay Mankita brings his traveling maker space and all materials for kids and families to build their own artful mechanisms - specifically, linkages and mechanical automata. Mr. Mankita will demonstrate his own kinetic art made from popsicle sticks, brass brads, cardboard, paperclips, cups, and other common materials. Participants will construct mechanisms of their own, following these prompts. Mr. Mankita will demonstrate methods for making cams & followers, friction wheels and cranks, as well as scissor, parallel, and reverse motion linkages!
Registration is required and begins 7/9.
